Alberta Vital Statistics can only issue documents that have happened in Alberta.

To apply for a Death Certificate, you must meet one of the following criteria:

Steps to obtain a Death Certificate

  • Step 1: Office Visit
    • Visit our registry office in Standard with identification
      Other legal documents may be needed as proof
  • Step 2: Details
    • Provide our staff with contact information such as
      deceased information
      such as birth date
      full legal name
      date and place of death
  • Step 3: Obtain Your Certificate
    • Once step 1 and 2 are completed, we can then order your death certificate online.
